At HardRok Engineering in Mount Isa we are excited to introduce our new CNC Plasma Dual Head Cutting Machine to service the North West region. This will provide a much faster turnaround in the production of cut plate for fabrication in our region, and in particular, our workshop. We see this as a huge benefit to our local area, especially during shutdowns or urgent orders. Our decision to invest in this machine was taken after consideration of how freight problems we encountered affected the turnaround times for our clients. We have employed a very experienced CNC Technician, who will oversee the set up and production of this machine.
This will compliment services already provided by HardRok Engineering, and further add to our ‘One Stop Shop’ mantra, in providing fabrication, rubber lining and painting in the same workshop. We also provide conveyor belt and all conveyor repairs.

If you'd like to know more about our heavy steel fabrication services in Mount Isa, you can read our most frequently asked questions below or contact us to ask any other questions you might have.
Heavy fabrication generally refers to the construction of structures that are too large to be classified as light or thin-walled, such as pressure vessels, boilers, bridges, offshore platforms and ships. It also encompasses the fabrication of components for these structures. Standard metal fabrication services cover smaller, lighter structures and elements.
We work with many different types of metals including aluminium, steel, stainless steel, and wear plate. We can cut metals of up to 150mm in thickness up to an accuracy of at least 0.2mm.
Galvanic corrosion is the process by which one metal corrodes when it comes into contact with another metal in the presence of an electrolyte, such as water. This can be a problem in heavy fabrication as different metals often need to be used in close proximity to each other. To avoid galvanic corrosion, it's important to use metals with similar galvanic potentials or to isolate them from each other using insulation.
At HardRok Engineering, we understand that our clients often have strict deadlines to meet. That's why we always endeavour to provide accurate lead-time estimates for all of our projects. We also offer a range of flexible delivery options to suit your needs.
